Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 2021 territorial championships at Yellowknife Ski Club!
CCNWT thanks everyone at the Yellowknife Ski Club for running such an enjoyable, well-organized and successful weekend of racing that was both well and safely attended.
You can find day one results (classic) here and here, and day two results (skate) here.
Here’s a message from CCNWT’s president, Shawne Kokelj, who presented medals at the event:
I’d like to express my congratulations to all participants in the NWT Territorial Championships, with a special thanks to participants who travelled from Hay River and Fort Smith.
Thank you to Yellowknife Ski Club for hosting a fantastic two-day event, with the additional challenges of Covid-19 protocols and cool temperatures. Cross Country NWT is grateful to the event coordinator, Kerry Wheler, as well as all of the volunteers who put an incredible number of hours into making an event like this happen: timers, groomers, cookie medal bakers, course officials, announcers, administrators.
With the large amount of snow received on Friday, I hear rumour that the dedicated club groomers were up at 5am making sure the race trails were in fantastic shape for Saturday.
Congratulations to all of our medal winners, and it’s wonderful to see so many enthusiastic folks out there of all ages having a great time and putting so much effort into their races.
Thanks to Kerry Wheler for these photos from the weekend.
