The best place to look for trails is with local ski clubs, but if there isn’t one in your community try reaching out to your community recreation centre or asking on a community Facebook page to see if any tracks have been set in your community.
Member Ski Clubs
Ski club trails stay the same each year, often have portions that are lit, and will be maintained frequently during the season.
You can also find maps for Yellowknife’s ‘guerrilla groomer’ trails located outside of the ski club at the bottom of this page, but for the most up-to-date information also check the Yellowknife Ski Updates Facebook page.

Guerrilla Groomer Trails (Yellowknife)
The guerrilla groomers, a group of local track-setters, have set many much-loved trails around the NWT (primarily in the Yellowknife area). These trails are not guaranteed to be there every year and may change their course each year, but generally can be found by talking to people at the local ski clubs, or by using some of these additional maps that skiiers have populated with their routes:
If you are exploring more remote trails, consider downloading an offline map of the area using Google Maps or an app like Avenza to your phone if you don’t have an InReach device to ensure you won’t get lost.
